MOC was born from a completely new type of challenge that MASUNAGA set for itself, which has continued to explore new frontiers in eyewear.

A simple appearance that eliminates waste and elaborate workmanship. That is the image of MASUNAGA, which won Japan’s first gold prize at SILMO D’OR.
On the other hand, MOC intentionally contains decoration that can be considered excess for eyewear.
However, you can definitely feel MASUNAGA’s strong craftsmanship in MOC, which has tamed even the “excess” and has mastered sophistication that can not be disguised.

MOC has deliberately adopted specifications that require a high level of technical ability and concentration, such as the 5 micron gold plating that cannot accept even the slightest correction, and the double-layered custom nose pad using four molds.

This is a culture that has been passed down since Masunaga Optical’s founding.
Masunaga Optical was founded in 1905 to make the eyeglasses industry a local industry in Fukui Prefecture, which was uncommon in Japan. Currently, “Japan-made glasses” are synonymous with high quality around the world. However, Masunaga Optical has always been on the cutting edge of the times, seeking the world’s best masterpieces that combine design and technology.
MASUNAGA MOC is a masterpiece in which the craftsmen of Masunaga Optical have condensed the technical skills and inspiration they have amassed from various products into new possibilities and new heights.
MOC Medallion
Iconic decorations that symbolize MOC are embedded in the temple tip. The solid silver medallion is made by casting, and the clear sparkle unique to smoked silver catches the eye casually.

5micron Gold Plated Parts
Decorations that give off a high-quality shine throughout the bridge, top bar, nose pads, and temples. The surface has been carefully polished by craftsmen with outstanding skills, and a plating layer ten times thicker than usual is applied to create a luxurious and dignified finish.

Equipped with a 1.5mm durable glass lens that is thinner than normal. Gradation colors as well as single colors are available.

Double Shield Pads
A wide nose pad with a double layer structure that fits snugly around your nose. The two-color combination of the base pad and the thickly plated main pad has grooves carved into the surface to reduce slippage. Even the parts you can’t see will fill you with a special sense of ownership.

A powerful and classy massive temple design. The sturdy shape is coated with deep-colored enamel, and the texture contrast with the metal color stimulates playfulness.

MOC Burgundy
Custom-made 10mm/8mm acetate fabric. The side shield rim, which features bold cuts, is luxuriously carved, and the shine of the polishing techniques used by skilled craftsmen makes them stand out. The original burgundy is a special color that was reproduced for MOC by finding a small amount of fabric left in the archives that were not produced in huge numbers.
